The Square Kilometer Array and HartRAO

The Square Kilometer Array (SKA) is the proposed next generation global radio telescope. Several countries are bidding to host the core site. Major technology development is also required to permit its objectives to be achieved. Estimated cost is one billion US dollars. Site testing and qualification is underway and technology demonstrators are being designed and built by several consortiums.
